TOBY WILTSHIRE is a Leeds-based composer and sound artist working predominantly in audio visual installations and film. Toby has been creating music and sound for over 20 years, performing and recording in a wide range of styles including; atmospheric, electronic soundtracks for art installations, electronic and acoustic/orchestral film music, electronic music for contemporary dance, live performance and commercial release.

Toby has worked with the visual artist William Simpson on numerous audio visual installation projects Including rising sun and secret life of trees. He has also worked with London-based artist and film-maker Corinne Silva on her films night circuits, six film poems (Poetry Society) and live performance of gardens of illusion. He recently (2018) worked with the PALM D'OR winning film-maker Peter Spence on meeting point 2 and composed the original score for the short film The Flaneur (2020), by Lyall Stephens and Mark Rylance.  

Toby was born in London and now lives and works in Leeds. He trained at Leeds College of Music where he gained a distinction for his masters in composition and won the conservatoire prize for masters. He began his music career over 20 years ago, originally as a saxophonist in jazz, funk and ska bands. He also produced music for several years under the name ToejaM for the parisian record label robsoul recordings.

He began composing full-time for art and screen projects in 2014.
